Any product coming from Bang & Olufsen will share a few common traits. The product will look really cool, sound good, and be very expensive. Such are the promises of the new BeoSound 5 digital music system from Bang & Olufsen.
The device is the firm's first fully digital audio system. The product is described as an interactive piece of art that forms a two-piece component audio system. The device uses a graphics interface for easy and convenient operation.
The system has a 10.4-inch LCD and the menus are navigated by an aluminum wheel. Personal digital music tracks can be listened to along with Internet radio broadcasts. Tracks are stored on a separate device called the BeoMaster 5 that features 500GB of storage. Cost is a big issue here with the system, selling for $5900 with a floor stand going for another $500, $250 for a table stand and $100 for a wall bracket.
