I have seen some weird marketing campaigns before, like the Godfather video game launch that had gobs of oranges thrown into streets of some major cities. Still the new one from Sony for its "don't call it a netbook" netbook the VAIO P.

Sony has used mannequins from New York City department stores to show its VAIO P for fashion week in New York. It’s clear that Sony is trying to position the little machine as a fashion accessory. The odd campaign used ten mannequins.

The mannequins were dressed in cloths from four new designers including threeASFOUR, Elise Overland, Katy Rodriguez, and Libertine. The display will be moved around hot neighborhoods in NYC to show the new P off. I guess they will have security with the display lest there be nothing left but nude plastic women.
