A new version of the Skype VOIP application is now available called Skype 4.0 for Windows. Skype 4.0 is called the most distinctive new release in the company's history and was designed based on the feedback of tens of thousands of Skype users.
The latest version offers full-screen video calling, clear call quality and is easier to use than ever before. The application has a built-in bandwidth manager to allow users on slower connections to enjoy video calls. On a connection of at least 400Kb/s or higher and a PC with a dual core processor along with a Certified Skype HQ Video Cam users can get full 30 frames per second video calling.
Call quality has been improved with a new audio codec that uses 50% less bandwidth. Set up is easier as well for mics, webcams, and headsets. New views are offered including a compact view with conversations in separate windows or a new default view with everything in one window.
