Sprint Nextel launched the new intrinsically safe-rated Motorola i365IS phone for its push-to-talk service.
The Motorola i365IS is incapable of releasing sufficient electrical or thermal energy to ignite fuel and cause a fire or explosion. Intrinsically safe devices are safe to use in hazardous areas that may contain flammable gasses, vapors or dust. The i365IS is for guys that blow out oil well fires or do other dangerous jobs like that.
Other safety features of the i365IS include Bundled Advanced Features (AFU), Emergency Group Call, Multi-Simultaneous Talk-Group, Isolated Site Operation, and Ultra-Rugged Design.
The Motorola i365IS looks like it is from the 90s, but if you need a safe phone you are stuck with this one.
