Rapid Repair is offering owners of the 5G iPod Video units an upgrade to a 240GB Toshiba HDD. The drive offers twice the storage capacity that the 5G iPod originally had. With twice, the storage space users can get 300 hours of movies and TV shows on the iPod along with lots more music.

The 240GB HDDs are sold as self-install kits or you can send the iPod in and the company will install the new HDD for you. The drive itself is a 1.8-inch 240GB Toshiba unit that only fits 5g iPod Video 30GB, 60GB, and 80GB units.

The real catch here is the price of the hard drive at $294.99. Users will probably also need a thicker backing device that adds another $9.99 to the price. The company does include a tool kit that is needed to open the iPod. The drive is only available as a pre-order at this time.
