Laptop Magazine sat down with Acer VP of Product Marketing Sumit Agnihotry and talked netbooks. Acer currently has the best selling netbook around called the Aspire One. Acer has big plans for its Aspire One line to keep it at the top of the sales charts.
Among the firms plans are to bundle more of its netbooks and notebooks with mobile broadband capability. Acer says that it is working with providers to offer a day rate for its netbooks as well. Day rates are key for many users and the only reason I purchased my Dell XPS M1330 with a broadband modem.
Acer says that it plans to have netbooks running on the NVIDA Ion platform available in the second half of this year. That is one thing I am looking forward to seeing. The company also says that it will use Intel's CULV platform in larger ultra-portable notebooks.
