Kingston has unveiled a massive capacity microSDHC card at MWC 2009 with 16GB of storage. The new 16GB card can store 3,000 digital music tracks, 9,000 images from a 5MP camera phone or up to 16 hours of video.
Kingston says that newer models of handsets from LG, Nokia, RIM, and Sony Ericsson support the 16GB capacity. A firmware update may be required to support the new capacity. The card is compliant with the SD specification v2.0 and includes an adapter for full-size SD card slots.
Kingston says that the MSRP for the card will be $90 and the exact launch date hasn't been announced. Each time higher storage capacity microSD cards are launched it makes me wish that Apple would add a microSD card slot to the iPhone. Pigs will fly before that happens though.
