Intel and LG announced that they would be working together on new mobile internet devices at MWC 2009. Intel's Moorestown hardware platform and a Linux-based OS called Moblin v2.0 will be the heart of the new platform.

LG and Intel expect the device to be one of the first Moorestown devices to market. Moorestown is the next generation MID platform from Intel that uses a 45nm Atom CPU, graphics, and memory controllers to support numerous wireless solutions when combined with the Langwell I/O block.

The platform is expected to debut in 2010 and is intended to deliver a PC like user experience on a mobile device. LG says that it is working with Ericsson to bring 3G capability to its MID device. There is no word on an expected launch date or pricing at this time.
