We saw the tiny Sony VAIO P Lifestyle PC at CES 2009 and it is small. Sony doesn’t want to call it a netbook, but that is exactly what the little machine is, albeit a very thin and wide one. Sony has made an addition to the VAIO P with the inclusion of Corel's InstantON technology in the system.

Using the software VAIO P owners are able to check email, surf the net, chat, and look at photos within seconds of turning the machine on without having to boot into Windows. Booting Windows can be a slow task and an annoying one when all you need to do is look at one small file.

VAIO P units featuring the technology are available now in Japan and are expected to ship worldwide in February 2009. I still think the form factor is all wrong for the VAIO P and the price is way too high. Sony is betting on a fashionable product at a time when most consumers are looking for cheap products like the MSI Wind.
