Capcom has announced the launch of Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360 and PS3 game consoles. The new version of the game goes back to the franchises 2D street fighting roots with some 3D HD visuals included.

Street Fighter is one of those games I have many fond memories of playing during my youth. It's cool to see the series moving on and continuing now that my kids are old enough to play it. Characters in the game include classics like Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, and Guile.

New characters for the game include Crimson viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus. The game has all the special moves you expect from the franchise and offers online play and six button controls. The standard version of the game sells for $59.99 and the collector's edition goes for $79.99.
