Earlier this week Shuttle announced a new high-end XPC small form factor gaming computer that supports the new Intel Core i7 CPUs and the X58 chipset. Shuttle has now announced a SFF machine that supports the rival AMD Phenom II CPUs.
Rather than a fully new computer, Shuttle is offering a new BIOS update that enables compatibility for the new 45nm Phenom II parts on the XPC SN78SH7. The new BIOS means that the system can support AM2, AM2+ and the new Phenom II X4 940 and 920 quad core processors.
The system measure 32.5 x 20.8 x 18.9 cm and has brushed aluminum accents on the front. Graphics for the machine are via NVIDIA GeForce 8200 technology and an HDMI output is integrated. A single PCI-E 2.0 x 16 slot is offered for graphics card. The machine is available now for EUR 281 plus VAT.
