If you have been waiting to get your hands on a smaller screen 32-inch HDTV until prices drop, this year may be the time for you to buy. DigiTimes reports that prices on 32-inch LCD HDTVs in America are predicted to drop to less than $400 by the end of the year.
DigiTimes cites "market sources" as proof of the claim. The sources noted that in August 2008 prices for 32-inch LCD HDTVs dropped to around $1000 and by the end of 2008 prices were under $800 during the holiday shopping season.
Pricing between first and second tier TV makers may only differ by $50 to $100 by the end of 2009 according to the sources. That will put pressure on second tier vendors as the price to step up to better brands is reduced. Shipments of LCD TVs globally this year are expected to reach 112 million units.
