Broadcom has announced that the chumby rich Internet platform has been integrated into the most recent Broadcom DTV, set-top box, and Blu-ray disc system-on-chip solutions. The addition will allow users of devices featuring the SoC to access the chumby library of interactive Internet content including Internet radio streams and podcasts.
The chumby platform offers over 1,000 widgets in 30 different categories from providers like CBS, MTV, The New York Times, and many more. With the new SoC, users will be able to stream Internet video and other content to TVs easily.
The platform will also allow users of enabled devices to share content like photos, video clips, games, and messages with friends and family who own chumby enabled devices. That would mean that you could send a video of your kids to the grandparents directly from your Blu-ray player to your parents chumby-powered TV.
