JVC has announced a new professional camcorder that records video to an internal SSD in native Final Cut Pro file format for easy editing. The video can be edited directly from the memory card that the camcorder records to.

The GY-HM199 ProHD camcorder records video in 1080p, 720p, and 1080i directly to SDHC Class 6 memory cards. The camcorder weighs 3.1 pounds and is equipped with a Fujinon 10:1 lens offering manual and automatic controls for focus and aperture.

The camcorder allows up to 64GB of memory to be inserted allowing enough storage for up to 6 hours of video recording. The dual memory card slots switch recording automatically to the second memory card when the first card fills up. Movies are recorded directly in .mov format. The camcorder will be available in April for $3995.
