MyWeather Mobile claims to have been the top paid weather application of 2008 listed on the App Store. The iPhone and iPod touch application has been updated to version 1.3 and has added new features to make the application more usable.
Among the new features is a heads up display that allows the customization of maps and to control terrain settings, overlay, opacity, and play/pause loop. The radar now has a time stamp loop and the satellite view is animated. Data caching allows users to look at previous weather conditions when a network isn’t available.
Unit conversions in inches or millibars for pressure and Celsius or Fahrenheit are available and the application will notify users when a network isn’t available. MyWeather Mobile uses Microsoft Virtual Earth technology to allow the viewing of weather in any part of the country.
