Just when you though wireless USB was dead with many of the major firms producing hardware and software for the specification going under, Fujitsu and Olidata say they will be showing Wireless USB devices at CeBIT 2009.

The solutions will be using Wisair Wireless USB solutions and are based on its single-chip technology. The product will be a Wireless USB adapter set that allows users to convert their existing wired USB devices like printers and external hard drives to wireless.

The chip used in the products is the Wisair WSR601. David Yaish, Wisair President and CEO noted, "products based on our WSR601 single chip benefit from our single SKU solutions, can be deployed worldwide and be offered at attractive, low prices to end users." I am glad to hear Wireless USB isn't dead; I look forward to shedding the wires from my devices.
