Panasonic has introduced a new member of its micro four thirds digital camera line called the DMC-GH1. The new camera is being stuck with the popular HD Hybrid moniker and promises pro-level photos with entry level DSLR ease of use.

The camera can record HD 1080p video using the AVCHD standard and can be optioned with a new long-zoom lens. When shot in 1080p mode the camera records at 24 fps and at a resolution of 1280 x 720 it records at 60 fps. The new lens was designed to support HD movie shooting and covers 14mm to 140mm in focal range.

The camera has a 3-inch rear LCD with live view and comes with a Lumix G Vario HD 14 to 140mm F4.0-5.8 ASPH/Mega OIS lens. The camera also features lots of manual modes to allow users to get artistic and control settings directly. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time. One interesting feature is that the Live View finder allows the user to preview the effects of aperture, shutter, and exposure settings before taking the picture on the LCD.
