Twitter rolled out a new more powerful search accompanied by a new trends feature.
The new Twitter Search promises real-time results across all tweets. Is Google scared now? At least I think they are getting concerned. Twitter is currently hyped around to world in mainstream media and their user numbers are exploding.

Twitter users apparently want to get connected to not only people but also the buzz. Twitter gives them the feeling that they are in realtime connected to what is happening in the areas they are interested in.
The new Twitter Search works pretty well for new technology for instance. When you search for the yesterday leaked BlackBerry 9630 for instance you get already tons of results. Still what is missing are ways to get to the first or best tweet about my search. Right now I just get the latest, which is usually just a copy or repeat of the original news. Twitter has still a lot to do to make their search really competitive with Google News search.
