NEC introduces new TV Mobile phones. They first introduced a TV mobile phone with the NEC V601N in Japan in 2003.

The NEC N940 and the N840 TV mobile phones are for the Chinese market. The N940 has a 2.1 inch touch panel display which enables Chinese character recognition with hand writing input. Both phones feature a 2MP Digital Camera. The N940 measures 101.5mm×51.5mm×20.7mm and weighs 112g. The Flip phone style N840 measures 100mm×48mm×25mm and weighs 125g. The NEC 840 has a MP3 Player functionality, miniSD-Card slot and bluetooth interface.
