SorobanGeeks reports today from a sighting in Tokyo's gadget wonderland Akihabara of a USB controlled mini RC car.
I did some research and the USBit cars are made by Japanese company Canopus. The mini RC cars are controlled via IR. A IR sender electronic module is connected via USB to a PC. There is a Microsoft Visual Studio NET 2003 library available to extend the control software. The USB mini-RC car set starts selling at around 6,000 yen (~$56)
More details on USBit site (Japanese).
