ATI has announced a new FirePro video card aimed at professional graphics users running multiple displays. The card is called the FirePro 2450 and is a low profile card supporting forum displays that are designed to operate on fewer than 18 watts of power.
The 2450 uses 512MB of onboard memory and offers full support for Windows Vista Aero and supports PCI Express 2.0. The card has dual VHCDI outputs with breakout cables for quad DVI or VGA support.
The four supported displays can each run a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200. In addition to being a low-profile card, the 2450 is also a half-length card that should make it suitable for small form factor systems. The card supports Vista, XP, or Linux 32 and 64-bit operating systems.
