MSI Announces GT628 Gaming Laptop

MSI has announced a new gaming notebook that uses the new NVIDIA GTS 160M GPU that uses 1GB of DDR3 RAM. NVIDIA claims that the GPU offers 50% more performance than previous generation video cards in notebooks and allows the machine to support full 1080p HD video.
The notebook uses the latest Centrino 2 technology from Intel, has a 15.4-inch 1680 x 1050 LCD, and used the MSI turbo Drive Engine that can overclock the CPU as much as 15% when on AC power. Storage for the computer is to a 320GB SATA HDD and the machine has a 9-cell battery.
A webcam is integrated along with 802.11b/g/n wireless networking and a 9-cell battery is available. The optical drive is a DVD super multi unit, but Blu-ray is an option on the system. HDMI out will allow the Blu-ray video to be sent to a big screen. The machine is set for release in mid April at an unspecified price.
