Dell has announced a new design for the rugged Latitude E6400 XFR laptop. The system is made to stand up to the most demanding use and starts at a MSRP of $4299. Dell says that the machine is designed for the military, first responders, oil and gas environments, and more.
The machine uses an exclusive Dell Ballistic Armor Protection System that features PR-481 promising twice the impact strength of magnesium alloy. The substance is made for use in cryogenics, aircraft components, and military devices.
Everything about the system is designed to withstand abuse and protect the sensitive components from damage. The machine can withstand drops of up to 36-inches in use and with the lid open and resists liquids and dust. Dell says that the machine meets more than 13 military standards.
