Hitachi Fined $31M for LCD Price Fixing

The US DOJ has announced that Hitachi has agreed to plead guilty and pay a fine of $31 million for participating in the LCD price fixing conspiracy that has so far led to jail time for some executives and large fines for LG and Chunghwa.
LG will pay a fine of $31 million for its role in fixing prices of TFT-LCD displays sold to Dell computer in the US. The LCDs were sold to Dell from April 1, 2001 until March 31, 2004. The plea deal is still subject to court approval.
So far four companies and seven individuals have been charged in connection with the price fixing conspiracy. So far more than $585 million in fines have been imposed because of legal action in the price fixing case.
