HP is now selling the Boston-Power Sonata batteries on its website. New batteries are being offered that fit 18 different HP notebooks, that covers 70% of HPs available notebooks. The Sonata batteries promise to maintain performance for three years.

The batteries are the first and only notebook batteries on the market to have a three-year warranty. Pricing for the batteries is $149.99 and the battery is available as an option for users buying new notebooks.

HP doesn't mention this, but the biggest thing about the Sonata batteries when they were first announced was that they could recharge to most of their capacity in only a few minutes. Since fast charge time isn’t a feature HP talks about I wonder if the batteries have changed since we first heard of them. HP first talked about the batteries in December 2008 but didn’t announce pricing at the time.
