It doesn’t take an industry insider to be able to step into any game retailer and look inside the cases at video game titles and determine that there are lots more games for the Wii than the PS3. Bloomberg reports that Sony is getting pressure from game developers to cut the price of the PS3 console.
If Sony doesn't cut the price, it risks seeing more of the budgets at developers be shifted towards making games for the Wii. The PS3 is currently $150 more than the Wii and $200 more than the cheapest Xbox.
While many prize the console for its graphics, Blu-ray player, and processing power, the sales of the console have slipped for the past three months. Sony still says that it has no immediate plans for cutting the PS3 price. Sony is currently facing one of its hardest years in company history with massive losses thanks to the slowing economy.
