Dell Announces New Cloud optimized Data Center Solutions

Dell is celebrating the second anniversary of its Data Center solutions division and is celebrating by introducing a new hardware solution for cloud computing environments. The new hardware solution is called the XS-23 II and is code named Xanadu II. The system is intended for the high-density x86 hyper-scale computing environment.
Several different processing architectures are offered on the system including new Intel Nehalem Xeon processors. Dell is offering shared infrastructure components with fans, power supplies, and chassis that help save power and are more efficient.
The new server systems allow for configurations with up to 88 servers and 704 processing cores with up to 396TB of storage plus switching all in a single rack. The new systems also take up 50% less space than previous solutions allowing for energy improvement of up to 15%.
