Apple will give us a look at the next version of the iPhone firmware today. Apple has invited selected media to attend a briefing of the new iPhone 3.0 firmware.
As reported rumors intensified over the weekend on what new features we will see in the new iPhone. Amongst the rumored features is Cut and Paste, Bluetooth tethering, MMS, Video recording, background processes, and improved homepage.
Kevin Rose framed the iPhone 3.0 firmware on the weekend as Apple's answer to the Palm Pre. This would suggest improvements along web services integration and social networks.
The date of today's iPhone firmware preview event matches that of last year's iPhone OS 2.0 unveiling. So an actual new iPhone 2009 is still expected in the June/July timeframe.
Another rumor suggests that Apple will surprise us with a 10 inch tablet device in addition to a premium App Store.
Several sites will offer live blogging from today's Apple event starting at 10am PCT. We will be following the event on these sites:

Gizmodo
