MSI has officially launched its wind U110 this week with a chassis that looks much like the one of the U115 hybrid, but promises nine hours of battery life. The U110 ECO uses the Intel Atom Z530 running at 1.6GHz, which is optimized for power savings.
The machine also uses a high capacity battery to get the extra runtime. Specifications for the machine are what you expect for a netbook with 1GB of RAM, Windows XP Home and Intel GMA 500 graphics. Some early reports had the machine using ATI HD 3200 graphics.
However, those reports resulted from a misprint on the MSI website according to Laptop Magazine. Rounding out the features of the machine are a 4-in-1 memory card reader, three USB ports, Ethernet, a 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g/n. the big question remaining is if the machine will even come to the US, MSI says it has not yet decided.
