The Digitimes reports that Intel is according to industry sources delaying the launch of its Atom Z550 and Z515 CPUs to mid-April.
The Intel Atom Z550 and Z515 CPUs are aimed at use inside mobile Internet devices (MIDs).
The new Atom Z550 and Z515 CPUs are supposed to feature frequencies at 1.2GHz and 2GHz and very low power consumptions.
The new Atom Z515 CPU also support Burst Performance Technology, which automatically adjusts the frequency based on performance needs.
Mobile Internet Devices are set to attack the market for the 100th time. I am not sure if they will succeed this time at squeezing themselves in between netbooks and smartphones. If a MID is more expensive than $200 it will already be a failure in my opinion.
NVIDIA actually promised $99 MIDs based on their Tegra Atom competitor chip. I would buy a $99 MID anytime.
