Seagate Launches BlackArmor NAS Devices

Seagate has launched a new family of NAS storage devices aimed at small businesses called the BlackArmor series. In the series are the BlackArmor NAS 440 and BlackArmor NAS 420 storage servers. Both of the solutions have up to 8TB of capacity.
The BlackArmor NAS 420 comes with two drives in a four drive chassis and the 440 comes with four drives installed. Drive capacities vary from 2TB in the 420 to 8TB in the 440. The devices are ready to use out of the box and both feature LCD screens for status information.
Security can be applied to individual files or directories with folder level encryption when needed. Data stored on the devices can be accessed from any web browser while on the road. Drives in the systems are hot swappable and RAID security is offered as well. The NAS 420 retails for $799.99 and the NAS 440 retails for $1199.99 with 4TB, $1699.99 for 6TB, and $1999.99 for 8TB (May).
