Western Digital has announced that its MyBook family of external storage solutions has grown to 2TB with a single drive device. 2TB is the largest single drive MyBook ever offered and the drive is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers.

MyBook models now available in 2TB capacity include the My Book Studio Edition, My Book Mac Edition, My book Home Edition, and My Book Essential Edition. The new capacity drive is perfect for consumers who shoot lots of large HD video files on camcorders and take lots of high-resolution digital images.

All versions of the 2TB drives except the Essential edition have a capacity gage to let users see how much space is left on the drive at a glance. The external solutions also power down automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity. The 2TB capacity models are available now with prices ranging from $329.99 to $379.99.
