Nokia's 5800 XpressMusic handset has had a rocky start in the US. The device was introduced on the market, only to be pulled shortly after launch due to complaints about the performance of the phone on some mobile networks.
Nokia has announced today that a free software update is now available for the handset that adds a wide range of new features and improvements to the handset. Among the notable improvements are faster data download from the internet, improved email, better search and more.
The user interface is faster and new features were added to the camcorder function including still image capture, video calls, and burst mode. A mobile dictionary is added in the update that uses text-to-speech and supports 38 languages. Application Update has been added to automatically check for updates to applications installed on the phone.
