We all know that there are lots of counterfeit electronic devices and computer software on the global market. Any popular product is subject to being counterfeited in an attempt to confuse consumers. Counterfeiting is a problem in other areas as well; most of us have probably seen a fake Rolex watch at some point.

Watchmaker Les Cubeurs has announced that it is now using a new technique to prevent counterfeiting and intellectual product theft. The company is now using a new high-tech watermark that is built into the sapphire crystal of the watch.

The watermark is undetectable by the naked eye. To see the watermark a dealer needs special glasses supplied by the watchmaker and the watch hands have to be set to a specific time of day. The watermark process uses a laser and special invisible digital ink.
