With reports circulating that RIM is set to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 this September, the rumors of new features for the iPhone rival are beginning to spread. As reported earlier on I4U, new Wi-Fi capabilities may be on the menu, along with an improved typing interface, according to Unwired View.
BlackBerry must have been listening to critics who slammed the mobile for its cramped keyboard and sluggish response time. The most notable being The New York Times’ David Pogue who questioned, “How did this thing ever reach the market?”.
The original BlackBerry Storm was BlackBerry’s first attempt at touch-screen functionality. Ads for the device described the touch screen as “clicking” when pressed, providing for more accurate typing when compared to traditional touch screens.
What the new typing interface could be remains a mystery. Perhaps a physical QWERTY keyboard to complement the touch screen?
