Mitsubishi has announced that it has developed four new types of 9-inch TFT-LCD monitors aimed at industrial use. The quartet of screens have a longer backlight life and need no inverter thanks to the low power LED backlighting.
Two of the models are touch panel screens and will start shipping on August 1st. The pair of screens without touch capability will ship on July 1st. Mitsubishi expects that the LCDs will be used in human machine interfaces, home security, kiosks, and other locations.
Each of the screens has a choice of standard and wide-view versions with the wide-view offering better viewing angles. The panels are also 30% thinner than other models produced for the same market by Mitsubishi.
