A couple of Palm Pre rumors making the rounds today suggest that the Palm Pre is slated for a May launch, or even sooner.

First, preThinking is reporting that Sprint employees are already training on the mobile device. An email they obtained from Sprint claimed, “Employees can expect training to start in April as well as multiple communications to get them excited and ready to help our customers.”

Adding credence to the speculation, Engadget is reporting that according to several tipsters, Sprint has implemented a May vacation freeze for all retail employees, seemingly to keep all hands on deck for an anticipated Palm Pre rush.

Earlier rumors suggested an April 30th release date, as reported on I4U.

Whenever the date, the Palm Pre will soon be available, most likely before the iPhone 2009 release expected this summer. Sprint already has a website promoting the Pre, and they demoed the device to a select group at the CTIA conference in Las Vegas.
