Nikon introduced the new Nikon D5000 DSLR camera today. The Nikon D5000 is the newest addition to its family of DX-format digital SLRs.
The Nikon D5000 features a versatile Vari-angle 2.7 inch LCD monitor that can be viewed in normal position flush against the camera back, or swung out and rotated and/or tilted.
Other features of the Nikon D5000 include 12.3MP, EXPEED image processing system, Live View shooting, D-Movie video capture with up to 1,280x720px HD videos, 19 Scene Modes, Scene Recognition System with Face Detection System, Active D-Lighting, 11-point AF system with Multi-CAM 1000 autofocus module, and Nikon Integrated Dust Reduction System.
The Nikon D5000 is yet another entry-level DSLR, that is just below the Nikon D90 in terms of features. The Nikon D5000 is listed on Amazon.com, but without price and release date.
DPReview has already been testing a pre-production Nikon D5000 and published a detailed review of the D5000.
