Apple is giving a glimpse of what features future iPhones could have with some patents they have filed recently. MacRumors reports that Apple has filed two patents that deal with motion and gesture user interface possibilities.

Gestures like shaking are already present in the iPhone. Shaking is for instance used to shuffle songs. Apple imagines more gestures like that make it easier to interact with the iPhone.
In addition Apple outlines how the iPhone would change when it detects that you and respectively the iPhone are moving. It could change the UI when you run or ride a bike.
The schematics found in the patent filing actually show a front facing camera. Video conferencing would finally be a go on the iPhone if implemented.

I do not think we will see any of these ideas in the iPhone 2009 that is expected in June.
