Netgear has unveiled its latest Coax to Ethernet adapter. The new product is called the MOCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit MCAB1001 and is designed to extend your network to coax cables inside your home. Netgear says that the adapter is perfect for streaming HD video content around your home.
The device promises performance of up to 270 Mbps and uses the MoCA 1.1 specifications that ensure compatibility with cable and DSL Internet service. The product has enough power to connect to devices over a maximum of 300 feet of cable between a node and an outlet.
The kit includes a pair of adapters, two RG-6 coax cables, a pair of Ethernet cables, and two power adapters. The kit is available now and retails for $189.99. This could be the perfect way to connect your DVR and game consoles to the Internet when Wi-Fi won’t do the job.
