NCsoft has announced that its MMO title Guild Wars has now sold over 6 million copies since its launch. The number comes as the fourth anniversary of the launch of the title comes near. NCsoft says that the number makes the game one of the most successful games of the genre.

To celebrate the milestone the developer has released a major content update that adds new quest content and extra storage options. The content will also include in-game birthday festivities starting on April 28th.

Since the launch of the game three campaigns and an expansion pack have been added. The three games include Guild Wars Nightfall, Guild Wars Factions, Guild Wars, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North.
