Having a good back-up system is crucial to running any business that deals with a substantial amount of data. There are a lot of different methods of data back-up and retrieval, but all of them have some issues. You've either got to be able to get to the physical back-up drive to pull your information off, or install a system that backs everything up off-site every few hours.

Newcomer Axxana is looking to capitalize on the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of both systems with its new Phoenix Data Recovery System. The Phoenix system consists of the Black Box (revealed by Oh Gizmo! on Monday) for on-site storage, as well as methods of off-site data-backup.

Axxana brags that their Black Box is virtually indestructible (it can withstand temperatures of up to 2000 degrees) and equipped with a 3g antennae. When a tornado blows that bus full of flaming terrorists into your data center just as the power goes out and the flood waters start to rise, you'll still be able to retrieve your data remotely when the storm passes.

According to their website, Axxana's Phoenix System is way more than just a fancy box. They also offer a cyclical data back-up system and a data recovery tool to be set up at your back-up facility. While some of Axxana's specs seem to be a little overkill to us, we're certain they're very reassuring to the sort of people who want their data back-up to be able to withstand multiple lightning strikes.
