Some merry pranksters had fun with ESPN.com today, implementing a hack that riddled the popular sports site with bright unicorns and rainbows when users inputted the Konami code on their keyboards.

Word spread on Twitter of the hack, giving users a few hours of magical amusement before ESPN.com ruined the fun and pulled the functionality.

A commenter on Kotaku.com knowledgeable in all things unicorn pointed out that the unicorns originated from Cornify.com, “the #1 unicorn and rainbow service worldwide, giving websites sparkle around the world.”

The Konami code, popularized in the Nintendo game Contra, is well known to videogame fans. It references the code players had to input in various Konami videogames for extra lives and health: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start.
