NeuroSky and Mattel are teaming up to create what they call the next generation of games and toys. NeuroSky makes gear that is called brain-computer interface equipment. All of the games and toys created with the collaboration will use the NeuroSky ThinkGear headset to process brainwaves and turn them into digital signals.
Among the first toys to debut in the collaboration will be the Mindflex game to be launched by Mattel. The game will use mind-eye coordination and physical acuity to levitate and guide a small foam ball around a customizable obstacle course.
The harder the player concentrates the digital signal from the games headset powers a fan inside the game to move the ball faster. When a player relaxes, the ball will drop. The game will include five electronic games along with multiplayer options and numerous obstacle course set-ups. Mindflex will launch this fall and retail for $79.99.
