Subsidized notebooks and netbooks offered by mobile carriers are something that still isn’t all that common here in the U.S., though Europeans have access to a wide variety of subsidized machines. It is only a matter of time until subsidized notebooks are a common thing here in America too.
One of the newest to come to market may be at your local Costco. BGR reports that some leaked Costco employee training materials have surfaced that claim Costco will be offering subsidized Acer Aspire one 10-inch netbooks starting on May 11th.
The machine will reportedly cost $99 and require users to agree to a 2-year contract for AT&T mobile broadband. The catch as always with mobile broadband connectivity is that the allowed bandwidth will be low and overages will be expensive.
