Rock Band fanatics, it's okay if you start drooling. Harmonix Music Systems, who has made all of the Rock Band instruments, announced today that it will be bringing out two new guitars for MTV Games' upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band. The pre-order club for The Beatles is also live as of today, although the game doesn't go on sale until 9/9/09.
The two new guitars are going to be based off of the signature instruments of John Lennon and George Harrison. Both the Rickenbacker 325 and the Gretsch Duo Get will be out in stores along with the latest version of Rock Band. They will retail for $99.99, along with the Hofner bass controller and Ludwig-brand drums that MTV Games announced earlier.
If you want to get on MTV's mailing list for The Beatles: Rock Band news and release information, you can join the pre-order club by pre-ordering at any game store that offers it. When you do so, you'll be given a code to enter on www.thebeatlesrockband.com, where you'll have access to unreleased game footage and other goodies to tide you over until September.
There's no information yet as to what the next band featured by Rock Band will be. I'm hoping we see Rock Band: Rush, or Rock Band: Hair Metal Edition next myself. The '80s still has much to teach us.
