If you're an AT&T customer, you just got a moderately convenient present from your service provider. Today the communications giant added a 'Send to Mobile' function to their website, att.net. AT&T's website already provides free unlimited email accounts to their customers, and now they've giving smartphone owners another reason to stop by.

The 'Send to Mobile' feature will allow customers to move links to things on the Internet they want to keep up with (like news, or weather, or i4u.com) over to their mobile's automatically. They can also add fast-access links to popular mobile social sites, like Facebook.

"Att.net is evolving to become the one place our customers can go to manage all their AT&T services and access content and applications for any of their devices, our goal is to deliver an integrated, easy-to-use experience that will make the benefits of our three-screens strategy even more evident to consumers." said Brian Shay, Senior VP of Converged Services at AT&T.

Pay attention, folks. This is the wave of the future talking. And yes, I realize that AT&T isn't the first company to have this idea. What's important is that the big megacorporations are now getting down with the idea that our society is moving towards the idea of 'info-hubs', which allow us to easily access a broad variety of relevant information wherever we go. The world is getting more connected every day, and I doubt it'll be too long before we see the other big corps make similar moves.
