Asus has unveiled a pair of new mainboards for PCs that use new DTS Sensation UltraPC surround sound. The two boards fall into the enthusiast and mainstream categories. The two mainboards are the Asus P5Q Pro Turbo and the Asus M4A79T Deluxe.
The DTS technology used in the mainboards allows post-processing technology to deliver surround sound effects from two speakers or a set of headphones. DTS says that the post-processing effects contain significant psycho-acoustic information to alter the perception of sound.
"Millions of people around the globe will now have access to the highest quality surround sound experience even when listening on two channel stereo headphones or speakers," said David H. Tan, Vice President Product Management and North America Licensing, DTS, Inc. "We are pleased to be partners with such a forward looking company as ASUSTeK, which understands that consumers want the ultimate entertainment experience from their computing products.”
