DisplayLink is celebrating the success of its certified products with the announcement that it has sold more than one million USB graphics chips since the debut of the system. The DisplayLink DL-120 and DL-160 make it possible for people to connect USB video cards to their computers and add more displays.

The USB GPUs are used in all sorts of products from the USB connected monitors from Acer, Samsung, and other companies to the small displays from Buffalo and other providers. A number of universal docking stations use Display Link tech as well including offerings from HP, Kensington, and Sony.

DisplayLink GPUs also power USB connected projectors and wired and wireless USB graphics adapters from EVGA and others. “We have seen steady adoption of DisplayLink USB graphics technology in a variety of devices,” says Brian O’Rourke, principal analyst for In-Stat. “And as wireless USB and USB 3.0 graphics technology continue to develop, it is likely that we will see a variety of products – from application specific monitors to wireless adapters and docking stations that will leverage the DisplayLink patent portfolio.”
