I have looked at several skateboarding games over the years, which is odd considering I have never been into skate boarding. The last of the genre that I checked out was Skate II, which used the Wii Balance board to simulate a skateboard.

The next Tony Hawk skateboard game called Tony Hawk: Ride will introduce a custom skateboard controller to gamers. The controller looks like a black plastic skateboard with buttons on the side. The controller is motion sensing.

Inside the skateboard controller are different accelerometers and motion sensors that turn the player's movements on the controller into direction and trick control on the TV. The game will be offered on the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. The first hands on looks at the game will be given at E3.
